Restart a Heart Day 2017

The Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) is inviting every first aid training provider throughout the UK to take part in this year's Restart a Heart Day!

Restart a Heart Day is a Europe-wide initiative developed by the European Resuscitation Council to raise awareness of the importance of teaching members of the public how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.

In the UK, Restart a Heart Day has fast become a major national event for the mass training of children within schools. Last year alone, over 100,000 children were trained in CPR, and this year the RCUK want to increase that number to over 150,000!

The event is planned for 16th October and the RCUK are calling on training providers to approach their local schools and youth groups to organise CPR training for as many children as possible. For further information, please download your invitation letter here.

With out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival rates being four times higher in countries such as Norway, where CPR is much more widely taught, it's clear that widespread CPR training is key to increasing survival rates in the UK. That's why taking part in Restart a Heart Day 2017 is so important. What's more, as well as helping to save lives, your participation is a great way to promote your services to the local community.

We hope you can take part in Restart a Heart Day 2017, as together we can help create a nation of lifesavers!
